The HSI settled the midday down 168 points or 0.7% at 23,866. The HSCEI fell 78 points or 0.9% to 8,651. The HSTECH eroded 110 points or 2.1% to 5,220. The total market turnover at midday amounted to HKD152.465 billion. Commodity stocks were on an uptrend. Oil stock CNOOC (00883.HK) and natural gas stock KUNLUN ENERGY (00135.HK) rose 2.2% and 2.7%, respectively. Coal stock YANKUANG ENERGY (01171.HK) spiked 4.2%. Oil service stock CHINA OILFIELD (02883.HK) mushroomed 5.5%. Petroleum drilling rig manufacturer SHANDONG MOLONG (00568.HK) was hyped up 71% at midday, with a turnover of over HKD2.3 billion. Gold mining stocks LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) and SD GOLD (01787.HK) soared 7.7% and 5.2%. ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) ballooned 4.1%. Shipping stocks COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) and OOIL (00316.HK) were also speculated up 5.1% and 4.2%. China has recently issued the Opinions on Deepening Reform, Innovation, and Expanding Opening-up in the Shenzhen Comprehensive Reform Pilot, which clearly stated that companies from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area listed on HKEX (00388.HK) are allowed to return and list on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. TENCENT (00700.HK) inched 0.1% down to HKD509.5. XPENG-W (09868.HK) sank 5.4% to HKD72.25. HKEX edged down 0.5% to HKD409.4. Among other tech stocks, JD-SW (09618.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and BABA-W (09988.HK) receded 0.9-1.7%. SMIC (00981.HK) faltered 2.1%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) tumbled 2.8%. GDS-SW (09698.HK), ALI HEALTH (00241.HK), SENSETIME-W (00020.HK), PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK), and KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) plunged 3.8-4.8%. Handset-related stock BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) faded 2.7%, and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) also lost 4%. Carmakers were under pressure. GWMOTOR (02333.HK) slid 3.4%. NIO-SW (09866.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) plummeted 4.1%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) dropped 1.7%. Pharma stocks experienced a pullback. JUNSHI BIO (01877.HK) placed shares at an 11.5% discount to raise HKD1.03 billion net proceeds. Its stock price cratered 8.2%. SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK) retreated 4.9% this morning after yesterday's surge of 19%. It plans to launch five innovative products annually over the next three years and expects an out-licensing deal to be finalized soon. CANSINOBIO (06185.HK), FOSUN PHARMA (02196.HK), SSY GROUP (02005.HK), and CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) also dived 3.4-4.2%, while GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) and REMEGEN (09995.HK) even slumped 5% and 9.1%, respectively.
