HSI Once Tops 26,600-mark to Hit 4-Yr High; Newcomers in Stock Connect Surge; BAYZED HEALTH, TRANSTHERA-B Soar 47-54%

As the market is looking forward that the Federal Reserve may sharply cut interest rates during this week's meeting, the HSI opened 90 points higher this morning (16th) at 26,536, briefly rising 155 points to reach 26,601, marking a four-year high. It last posted at 26,476, up 30 points or 0.1%, with a turnover of HKD85.483 billion. Several pharmaceutical-related stocks, included in the Stock Connect last Monday (8th), have ballooned in recent days. BRAINAURORA-B (06681.HK) sustained its three-day rally, opening 2.77% higher this morning, peaking at HKD13. It last stood at HKD11.87, up 17.29%, with a turnover of 81.9834 million shares, involving HKD970 million. The stock was listed in early January 2025 at HKD3.22. BAYZED HEALTH (02609.HK), which proliferated 50.6% yesterday, opened 14.9% higher and reached HKD17.06, a new listing high. It was last at HKD15.8, continuing to soar by 54.3%, with a turnover of 91.9232 million shares, involving HKD1.385 billion. The stock was listed on June 23 at HKD4.22, currently trading about 2.7 times higher than its listing price. TRANSTHERA-B (02617.HK), also listed on June 23, opened 15% higher this morning and swelled 63.7% at one point, reaching a new listing high of HKD679.5, grossing gains of almost 50.7 points in less than three months.
