STANCHART (02888.HK) CEO Bill Winters has apologized for his remarks referring to "lower-value human capital", stating that he recognizes his wording caused discomfort among some colleagues.

He noted that the bank has consistently been committed to supporting employees whose roles are affected by automation adjustments, adding that lower-value positions are more susceptible to automation replacement and that the bank has a responsibility to help staff transition to higher-value roles.
